Tell us about your role at Monarch.

My role at Monarch is Implementation Manager with the Intapp Project. I am here to serve my team and make sure they have the support they need to successfully complete their projects in an effective manner. My day consists of meeting with the team to discuss their projects, talking with our client to ensure metrics are on track to be met, responsibly maintaining our internal systems, and solving complex issues as they arise. The aspect that every day is different with a new set of challenges is very exciting to me. I look forward to watching this team grow and take on new challenges as Monarch continues to carve out new paths in our industry space.

Since you first started out in our Core10 division, how did you hear about the company?

I was referred to by a former Core10 team member. She spoke to me for an extended amount of time about how great the culture and management of the company is. That conversation encouraged me to apply for a position and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Why did you initially choose to work at the company?

Going through the interview process, I really enjoyed the meetings with Anthony Alexander and other team members. They made me feel right at home and I knew that this would be a great place to start my career. I was also looking for a position that would work on and lead projects and the Implementation Analyst role gave me the ability to do just that.

What did you do before joining the team?

Before joining the Core10 team, I worked for Compass Group managing the back-of-house operations for the convenience stores and dining halls, at the University of Houston campus, before ultimately being laid off when the Covid-19 pandemic surprised the world. I then decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and within a year, I had an open door to join this wonderful company.

Where did you go to school?

I attended University of Houston to receive my bachelor’s degree. I then attended Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi for my graduate degree.

What did you study?

University of Houston: Hospitality Management
Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi: Master’s in Business Administration.

What got you interested in a career in SaaS?

While pursuing my MBA, I took a data analytics class and I found that really enjoyable. After that, I knew I wanted to work in the software industry on projects that worked with analyzing data and building useful analytics.

What is your favorite project you have worked on?

My favorite project so far has been the Intapp project. The projects associated with this project are quick and generally fun. The clients are great to work with and appreciate the work that we put into creating platform sites that are uniquely created for their workflow. The team is also very close to one another and that makes the work even more enjoyable.

What is life like outside of Monarch?

Outside of Core10, I have a wonderful family which I am very close to. We often find many reasons to come together and celebrate! I love to travel, especially if the beach is involved in the plans. When given the chance, you will also find me either hunting or fishing in my spare time!

How do you give back to the community?

My heart is for every person to know they are loved and cared about. Love finds a need and meets it. I’ve been on a few mission trips to serve the global community. Locally, I am serving anyone who is in need, in partnership with local churches to serve the community.

What is something other people find most surprising to learn about you?

The most surprising thing for people to hear is that I have moved over 30 times within Texas. I’ve lived mostly in South and East Texas in small towns with the exception of Houston.

What is your favorite thing about Texas?

My favorite thing about Texas is the state’s diversity. Texas is a huge state, and each region is very different. The culture is very laid back, and everybody who lives in Texas is proud to call it home. There are huge cultural differences between each region of Texas. We have cultures such as Mexican, German, African, Texas country, etc. With cultural differences, come differences in food as well. Lastly, the topography is different around the state. We have beaches, mountains, rolling hills, desert-like areas, and large forests.

Why did you choose to stay there?

Texas is home because it’s beautiful and has so much to offer to its residents. I love working from home remotely in Texas because it gives me the flexibility to be a part of my family’s life as well as the ability to choose where I love to live.

Anything else you’d like to share?

It’s been a privilege to work for such a great organization and have the opportunity to grow in my career and as a person!
